The active substance of the drug is oxymetazoline.

It contains additional components: disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride 50%, sodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium hydroxide 1 ml solution. Produced in dark glass vials of 5 ml or 10 ml with a pipette in the lid.

Applying to children up to a year, drops are diluted with special water used for injections in the proportion: or distilled in the same proportion. Used for instillation into the spout.

Pharmacological effect

When Nazivin gets on the inflamed mucous membrane of the nose, its swelling and the volume of mucus released decreases. This is due to the effect of the drug on adrenaline receptors, which are in the blood vessels (in the muscle fibers). The receptors are reduced, and the permeability of the vessels decreases due to their constriction.

The use of Nazivin improves nasal breathing, eliminates the swelling of mucous membranes. And also the drug reduces the risk of complications in the paranasal sinuses and in the middle ear (sinusitis, sinusitis and otitis). After getting the drug into the blood due to absorption in the mucous membranes, the vessels (arteries) contract in the organs and tissues, and the heart rate also increases. This increases blood pressure, and changes the heart rate.

When applying Nazivin to mucous membranes in recommended doses, it does not enter the circulatory system and does not cause systemic effects on the body. Nazivin does not irritate the nasal mucosa and does not cause blood vessel overflow (hyperemia).

The maximum exposure to the drug is reached after 15 minutes after use. The action lasts for 8 hours.

Reviews

We picked up some feedback from parents who used Nazivin for children:

  1. Nastya. When the child had a runny nose, I immediately began to wash her nose with saline. But he allowed only to quickly remove the mucus, but to cope with nasal congestion it was possible only Nazivin. I used the drug for only 3 days and such an unpleasant symptom as the runny nose disappeared.
  2. Svetlana. My babies have been treated by Nazivin for 5 years already. They are small, so they often get sick, and these drops quickly restore the breathing of the nose. They do not cause irritation of the mucous and burning, like some other drugs. The pipette is always on the vial - it's convenient, you do not have to look for it, boil it, clean it up somewhere, so that the kids will not play with it.
  3. Vera. Nasivin children perfectly copes with stuffy nose in my grandson. He is 5 years old, but the trips to the garden in the cold season always end in the fact that he is sick. I tried a lot of drops: Pinosol, Otrivin, but we could not get such effect as from Nazivin. It is enough for us to swallow 3-4 days a child's nose, as the cold immediately recedes
