Get rid of pain: general principles and procedures

Thermotherapy

Since ancient times, it has been noticed that the thermal effect on a sick organ softenspain. Hot bath, shower, sauna, sauna - all these funds have long been taken by people into service. In fizkabinets for heat treatment, such devices as ultrasound, solux, quartz are used. They are used for local heating of certain areas of the body.

If the pain has only arisen and is acute, then it is better to use cold or analgesic medications. The analgesic action of ice is based on the fact that it cools the nerve endings and, in connection with this, the conductivity of the pain impulses deteriorates.

Electroneurostimulation

This procedure irritates certain areas of the skin, causing the pain to decrease.

Ointments

When rubbed into the skin, ointments have a certain analgesic effect. Their use also prevents painful impulses to reach the cerebral cortex.

Analgesics

Analgesic drugs. Most of them can be bought in a pharmacy without a prescription. These include tablets Analgin, Amidopirin, Aspirin, Tempalgin and many others. Some of the analgesics have a hypnotic effect, are released by prescription and require caution in the application.

Corset

Used for unloading the spine. The corset helps to protect some areas from movement, turns and to maintain the resting state necessary for a diseased vertebra or articulation. The corset should be tightened tight, and it is worn for a long time.

The disadvantage of the corset is that when it is worn, some muscle groups become weakened due to the restriction of their activity. Therefore WEAR CORRECT DURABLE NOT RECOMMENDED.

Extension of the spine

This procedure is used for chronic pain in the spine, resulting from nerve entrapment. With the help of stretching, an increase in the distance between the vertebrae is achieved, the release of clamped nerves and, as a consequence, the reduction of pain.

There are many ways to stretch the spine. This is the underwater traction, and stretching in the sitting or lying position, and the so-called stretching "on the door jamb", when the patient, hanging on the door jamb, achieves pain relief, and many others.

Medical gymnastics

Before starting the procedure to relieve pain and soften the tissues, the methodologist works on the appropriate points with the help of special equipment, a heating pad or ointments. Sometimes ultrasound is used for this purpose.

Detecting the pain point in the spine, the methodologist feels the vertebrae and muscles. In order to determine the movements causing, or, conversely, calming pain, he bends and turns the patient in different directions.

Massage

To improve the blood supply of tissues, to achieve their relaxation and softening, make massage.

Massage can be soft and hard. With a hard massage, there are unpleasant sensations, but with the skillful actions of the masseur the pain passes in a few minutes. With the help of the massage, relax the tensed muscles and strengthen the weakened muscles. Sometimes, in order to reduce pain, the masseur stretches, which consists in sipping one or the other leg. This procedure increases the distance between the vertebrae, which reduces the pressure and pressure on the discs and nerves.

All the actions of the methodologist should be aimed at achieving the following goals:

  1. pain reduction;
  2. training of a patient with movements that do not cause back pain;
  3. teaching the patient the rules of behavior in everyday life( correct lifting of weights, proper walking, bearing, etc.);
  4. teaching the patient special special physical exercises that help to relieve pain.

Acupuncture

Or acupuncture .This method of treatment was developed by healers of oriental medicine and successfully works for several millennia. Recently, acupuncture has become widespread in all countries of Europe. Now in any rural hospital a neuropathologist can conduct a course of acupuncture.

The essence of the method is that irritation with special needles of certain biological points leads to changes in the work of certain organs and tissues.

Analgesic( analgesic) medicines

Non-narcotic analgesics

The main difference of this group of drugs is the lack of narcotic effect. Non-narcotic analgesics are ineffective in cases of intense pain. Indications for their appointment are mainly pain accompanying inflammatory processes( myositis, arthritis, neuritis, etc.).

Non-narcotic analgesics have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. Decrease in temperature under the influence of non-narcotic analgesics occurs due to increased heat transfer( expansion of the blood vessels of the skin, increased sweating).At the same time, they do not influence normal body temperature.

There are three groups of non-narcotic analgesics:

  1. derivatives of salicylic acid( salicylates) - Aspirin( acetylsalicylic acid), Methylsalicylate;
  2. derivatives of Pyrazolone - Amidopyrine, Analgin, Butadion;
  3. derivatives of Aniline - Fenacetin and Paracetamol.

Feature of the latter group is the lack of anti-inflammatory action.

Acetylsalicylic acid( Aspirin) is a typical representative of salicylates and has all of the above effects. In addition, its use in small doses leads to a decrease in platelet aggregation and, thus, to a decrease in blood coagulation. This effect is used for angina pectoris for the prevention of myocardial infarction, and for myocardial infarction - to prevent the expansion of the infarction zone. Specific side effects in the use of Aspirin can be lesions of the gastrointestinal tract( up to the formation of bleeding ulcers) and hearing impairment:( tinnitus, hearing loss).Side effect of aspirin on the gastrointestinal tract is associated with the inhibition of the synthesis of a certain class of prostaglandins, which normally protect the gastric mucosa from irritating action, acidic gastric contents.

Pyrazolone derivatives, in principle differing from salicylates in chemical structure, are very close to them in terms of effects, exceeding the strength of the action. The advantage of Analgin is the possibility of its parenteral administration.

Terrible specific side effects of pyrazolone derivatives are their effect on hematopoiesis by the manifestation of leukopenia and agranulocytosis.

Aniline derivatives are inferior to the first two groups in effectiveness, in addition, they do not, as already noted, have an anti-inflammatory effect. At therapeutic doses of Paracetamol, rarely gives side effects, which allows recommending it for use in pediatrics. However, it has a narrow therapeutic breadth and already at 3-4 times its excess in the body can accumulate an extremely toxic product - the metabolism of paracetamol, which leads to pronounced impairment of liver function.

Narcotic analgesics

According to the modern classification, analgesic drugs of the opium group and their synthetic analogs are divided into drugs of the morphine group and related synthetic compounds( Butorphanol, Buprenorphine, Morphine hydrochloride, Nalbuphine, Omnupon, Pentazocine) and phenylpiperidine derivatives andother opioid synthetic analgesics( dipidolor, promedol, tilidine, tramadol, fentanyl, estocin).Among their side effects of these drugs are drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, respiratory depression. All these drugs are prescribed and prescribed only by a doctor! And they are on strict account in medical and preventive institutions.
