The drug Vilprafen is available in the form of tablets for oral administration in a cardboard package in blisters for 10 pieces. Each tablet is covered with a film shell of white color and has a horizontal notch on one side.

Pharmacological effect

The bactericidal effect of the active substance of the preparation is due to the fact that josamycin is able to bind to a large subunit of the ribosomal membrane (50S), does not allow transport RNA to be fixed, and also blocks the translocation of A-center peptides (a kind of mutation that accompanies chromosome rearrangement, affecting the properties of the cell) and suppresses intracellular production of proteins from amino acids.

The substance has activity against Gram-positive aerobic microorganisms, including:

According to the instructions, Vilprafen is prescribed for the treatment of the following infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to dzhozamycin:

3. Infections in ophthalmology (dacryocystitis, blepharitis);
4. Infections in dentistry (pericoronitis, alveolitis, gingivitis, periodontitis and alveolar abscess);

6. Gonorrhea, venereal lymphogranuloma, syphilis (with increased sensitivity to penicillin);

8. Infections of the lower respiratory tract, including community-acquired pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis (exacerbations);
9. Scarlatina (Wilprafen is prescribed in case of hypersensitivity to antibiotics of the penicillin series);
10. Diphtheria (in complex therapy together with diphtheria antitoxin);
11. Infections of the genital tract and urinary tract (cervicitis, prostatitis, urethritis and epididymitis caused by mycoplasmas and / or chlamydia);

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in severe violations of the liver or in the presence of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Application in pregnancy and lactation
