Types of tendovaginitis

Among the main types of this disease can be identified the following: crepitating, stenosing, purulent, aseptic.

Cretering- can appear after long loads on the tendon of the hand. Occurs in people whose profession involves the implementation of monotonous movements with a hand (guitarist, violinist, milkmaid, typist, etc.). Because of these movements, traumatization of muscles, tendons and adjacent tissue occurs.

Stenosing- a kind of tendovaginitis, which is manifested due to injuries to the tendons. It is a common trauma in representatives of all professions related to power loads on the hands.

Purulent- a disease that manifests itself as a consequence of getting into the joint of pyogenic bacteria. Among the pathogens can be isolated E. coli, staphylococcus, streptococci.

AsepticTendovaginitis can also occur with the systematic overstrain of a certain group of muscles and with prolonged monotonous movements. There is a post-traumatic (occurs as a result of trauma) and degenerative (with a violation of the structure of the synovial sheath of the tendon sheath) tendovaginitis of the hand.

According to the clinical course, there are two types of tendovaginitis - acute and chronic. Acute occurs due to damage to the tendons. Chronic, however, occurs gradually because of the characteristics of labor or other occupations of man.

Acute tendovaginitis often flows into a chronic one.

According to the degree of development of the disease, three forms can be distinguished:

  • primary- accompanied by a small edema in the region of the synovial vagina;
  • exudative-serous- more intense effusion accumulated in the synovial vagina, the appearance of swelling;
  • chronic stenosing- the appearance of sclerotic changes in the synovial vagina.
