Urerek is a medicinal product intended for the treatment of urinary disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The therapeutic effect of Urereka is achieved through the blocking of postsynaptic A1a-adrenergic receptors, which cause tension of the smooth musculature of the prostate, the neck of the bladder and urinary tract (prostatic part). The drug is highly selective, that is, does not affect the smooth muscles of other organs and the tone of blood vessels, so it has a minimum of side effects.

Pharmacological effect

The main active substance of Urereka is silodosin.

The medication is a highly selective competitive antagonist of alpha1-adrenergic receptors, which blocks postsynaptic alpha 1-adrenergic receptors located in the neck of the urinary bladder, smooth muscles of the prostate gland, prostatic part of the urethra, and also reduces the tone of the smooth muscles, contributing to a better outflow of urine. Thus, the symptoms of irritation and obstruction caused by benign hyperplasia decrease.

The Urerek possesses high selectivity. Silodosin does not affect blood pressure.

Indications for use

The main medical indication for Urerek capsules is the improvement in the process of urination in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (adenoma).

Contraindications

Do not use the drug Urerek in the following cases:

  • age to 18 years;
  • hepatic and renal failure in severe degree;
  • high sensitivity to any component of the drug;
  • pregnancy, as well as breastfeeding;
  • cautiously the agent is appointed or nominated at an average degree of renal failure.

Dosage and route of administration

As indicated in the instructions for use, the recommended dose of Urerek is 8 mg 1 time / day, concurrently with food intake, preferably at the same time of day. It is necessary to swallow the whole capsule, preferably with a glass of water.

In the treatment of patients with moderate renal insufficiency (CC ≥30- <50 mL / min) is recommended during the first week take the drug at a dose of 4 mg / day, then with good individual tolerance, you can increase the dose to 8 mg / day.

In patients with severe renal insufficiency, silodosin is not recommended.

Adverse Reactions

The most frequent side effects are disorders of the reproductive system, such as retrograde ejaculation and aneculation. Also, the drug may cause:

  1. Syncope;
  2. Nausea;
  3. Diarrhea;
  4. Dizziness;
  5. Dry mouth;
  6. Erectile dysfunction;
  7. Decreased libido;
  8. Orthostatic hypotension.

For some time after taking Urereka, blood pressure may decrease or orthostatic hypotension develop, which is manifested by dizziness and weakness. In this case, it is recommended to sit down or lie down.

Patients who have an operation associated with cataracts, 1-2 weeks before the appointed day, receive Uroreka should be discontinued, otherwise complications in the form of intraoperative syndrome of the "flabby" iris are possible.

Overdose

An overdose of the drug is accompanied by the following symptoms: a marked decrease in blood pressure, compensatory tachycardia.

To eliminate signs of overdosage, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage, take activated charcoal or osmotic laxative, take symptomatic therapy aimed at increasing BCC, drink vasoconstrictive drugs. Necessary to monitor the function of the kidneys. Dialysis is ineffective due to intensive binding of the drug to plasma proteins.

special instructions

Treatment with Urerek reduces the amount of seminal fluid released, which can affect male fertility. This effect disappears after discontinuation of the drug Urerek.

As with the use of other alpha1-adrenoblockers in the treatment with silodosin, a decrease in blood pressure may be observed, orthostatic hypotension. At the first signs of orthostatic hypotension (dizziness, weakness), the patient should sit or lie down and remain in this position until the symptoms of orthostatic hypotension disappear.

Since benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate tumors have similar symptoms and can develop together, patients with suspicion on benign prostatic hyperplasia before the appointment of a drug, a check is necessary to exclude tumors of the prostate gland.

Patients taking or taking alpha1-adrenergic blockers may experience a flabby iris syndrome during surgery for cataracts, which can lead to complications during surgery. It is necessary to stop treatment with alpha 1-blockers 1-2 weeks before such an operation. Patients who are prescribed an operation for cataract, it is not recommended to start treatment with Urerek.

Interaction with other drugs

It is not recommended to combine with other alpha-blockers due to possible potentiation of the action.

The combined use of inhibitors of the isoenzyme CYP3A4 (ketoconazole, clarithromycin, itraconazole, ritonavir) is not recommended, because increases the concentration of silodosin in plasma.

Inhibitors of PDE5 (sildenafil, tadalafil), when combined, can increase the risk of dizziness.

Hypotensive drugs (beta adrenoblockers, calcium antagonists, drugs acting on RAAS, diuretics), when combined, can enhance orthostatic hypotension.

Reviews

We offer you to read reviews of people who used Urerek:

  1. Victor. I am forced to take coagulants not of direct action (synkumar), tk. I have a lawsuit. heart valve. The urologist has appointed or nominated to me sonizinum (the same omnik) After the first reception at me has fallen А \ Д up to 44 \ 30. It was something... The doctor does not believe that this is possible, that one could do without an ambulance. In such cases, horizontal position and abundant drinking. Imagine how I was afraid to take Urerek. Has started to accept it on 4 mg-has managed, pressure has not considerably decreased. Now I accept on 8 mg during meal once a day. I'm very superstitious.... Who have problems I recommend ALL. And the lack of ejaculation did not affect my sexual desire... However, if you want to conceive a child, then you can not be treated... Master-gentleman.
  2. Yuri. A good medicine, it suits me, it does not eliminate symptoms as quickly as I would like, but it does not work at the expense of the body, it's safe. I went to the doctor, he wrote me a prescription for capsules and another special diet. Followed the instructions and in order. Although the cost of tablets is certainly too high, especially if you need to take them for a long time.
