Pharmacological effect

Bacteriostatic (suppresses the reproduction of bacteria) and bactericidal (causes the death of bacteria), the properties of Zinnat are due to its ability to disrupt the synthesis of the cell wall of the microorganism.

The active substance of Zinnat is cefuroxime, which shows activity against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria. The absorption process from the gastrointestinal tract is significantly accelerated if the Zinnat antibiotic is taken simultaneously with food.

The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood can be observed after 2-3 hours after application of the drug. Zinnat is excreted by the kidneys unchanged.

Drug Interactions

  1. The administration of Zinnat does not affect the quantitative determination of creatinine by the alkaline-picrate method.
  2. As a result of the ferrocyanide test, a false negative result is possible to determine the level of glucose in the blood and in the plasma is desirable to use hexokinase or glucose oxidase methods.
  3. Zinnat can affect the state of the intestinal microflora, and this leads to a decrease in the reabsorption of estrogens. As a result, the effect of hormonal oral combined contraceptives decreases.
  4. With simultaneous application with loop diuretics, tubular secretion, renal clearance, increased concentration of cefuroxime in plasma, as well as its half-life.
  5. When taken simultaneously with diuretics and aminoglycosides, the likelihood of developing nephrotoxic effects increases.

Bioavailability of cefuroxime may decrease with simultaneous administration of drugs that reduce the acidity of gastric juice. Such drugs level out the effect of increasing the absorption of medication when taken after a meal.

Reviews

We picked up some feedback from people about Zinnat:

  1. Nastya. Zinnat is an excellent new generation antibiotic. The child was 3.5 years old, the temperature was 39.3 every 6 hours, there was no coughing and sneezing, the pediatrician prescribed, immediately on the next day the improvement in the face of the child. I advise you not to be afraid of anything !!!!
  2. Victoria. My son was sick heavily. It started with Orvi, ended with bronchitis with a very high continuous temperature. Assigned zinnat in the form of a syrup from granules. Tear is terrible. They switched to zinnat tablets and normally drank the course, recovered very quickly.
  3. Oksana. My doctor prescribed the drug Zinnat to my children with ARVI. I read the reviews, bought granules for 400 rubles. Since this is an antibiotic, I bought Norbokakt for the normalization of the intestinal microflora. The instructions marked the course of treatment in 5 days, as the doctor prescribed us. At illness or disease the antibiotic has helped or assisted - illness has departed, but to take a great interest in a strong agent it is not necessary.
