For the dermatological agent, two pharmaceutical forms are provided - cream and ointment.

The content of the active substance is the same - 50 mg of clobetasol propionate per 100 g of drugs. The difference lies in the composition of the auxiliary ingredients that provide the structure and other characteristics of the drug:

  • Ointment: E1520, emulsifier sesquioleate sorbitan, white paraffin.
  • The cream contains glyceryl in the form of monostearate, arlacel-165, analogue of beeswax, a mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohols, E1520, chlorocresol, E331, monohydrate of citric acid, purified water /

Pharmacological effect

The active substance - clobetasol propionate - glucocorticosteroid, which is used for topical application in dermatology. Clobetasol propionate has a nonspecific anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect due to vasoconstriction and decreased collagen formation in the skin. Clobetasol propionate also has the property of eliminating edema, relieving congestion and itching.

The penetration of clobetasol propionate through the skin in different people is different and increases with the use of an exclusive bandage. In people with healthy skin, peak concentrations of clobetasol propionate in plasma, 3 ng / ml, were observed eight hours after application of the drug to the skin. In people with skin diseases: psoriasis, eczema, peak concentrations of the drug (, and, ng / ml) were observed 3 hours after a single dose of Dermovate on the skin.

After absorption through the skin, the drug most likely passes the same metabolic pathway as corticosteroids after systemic administration. However, the systemic metabolism of Dermovate has not been fully understood.

Indications for use

Medications are highly active, used in external treatment with:

  1. Discoid lupus erythematosus;
  2. Dermatoses that can not be treated with other drugs;
  3. Psoriasis (except for extensive plaque);
  4. Different types of eczema;
  5. Red flat lichen (red dermatitis).

Choosing between ointment or cream, you should proceed from the nature of skin lesions: since the ointment contributes to the preservation of moisture, it is better to use it on dry, hyperkeratotic and coarsened areas. The cream has a light texture, so it is better for a delicate skin.

In the future, the achieved effect can be maintained without the use of an occlusive dressing.

Such a scheme of application should be combined with routine daily application of emollients. A regular assessment of the condition, as well as the benefits and risks of continuing treatment, should be carried out.

Special instructions for patients with atopic dermatitis:

  1. Treatment with Dermovayt should be gradually withdrawn immediately after the control of the disease is achieved, and treatment with an emollient should be continued as maintenance therapy.
  2. Sudden abolition of Dermovayt may lead to a relapse of previously available dermatoses.

Special instructions for children:

  1. Children are more likely to develop local and systemic side effects with external GKS therapy for external use and, as a rule, they require shorter courses of treatment with less active means than adults.
  2. Caution should be exercised when using Dermoveit in children to ensure that it is applied in a minimal amount that provides a therapeutic effect.

Special instructions for patients with impaired renal and / or liver function:

  • In the case of systemic absorption of the drug (when applied to large areas of the skin for a prolonged period period), its metabolism and excretion can slow down, leading to an increased risk of developing a systemic toxicity. Therefore, it should be used in such patients in minimal amounts and for as short a period as possible, while achieving the necessary clinical effect.

  1. Leonid. I suffer from psoriasis, mainly on the outside of the hand. On the advice of the attending physician I try the cream "Dermovate to be honest, there is no result for a month already. The only thing - the steamed hands softens well, but it does any ointment that is used for treatment. In a word, I still do not see the result!
  2. Tanya. I use this preparation already half a year. A special effect of its use is not noticed. Maybe he helps with psoriasis, but the granuloma on the finger can not be cured. Although my doctor recommended this ointment as the best in the class of these drugs. Dermovate did not help me.
