What describes the main chapters of the law

Regulations on the procedure for military service: major changes 2017-2018, comments

The main differences from the previous law:

1. the term of military service is reduced from two years and three years, depending on the kind of troops to one year for all but the officers;
2. there was the possibility of an alternative service with an increase in the period of its passage to one and a half and two years;
3. in the army introduced a contractual basis;
4. increased the delay time from three years for the entire period of study at the university.

Presidential Decree 1237 of 16.09.1999

This appeal introduces a new law in force to the present. The decree abolishes the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR throughout the territory of the Russian Federation and the presidential decree of 401.1999 No. 4.

Here is an order to the government to bring all legal and regulatory acts in compliance with the new law within three months.

The Ministry of Defense and local authorities are instructed to report on the process of implementing the new order and to amend the improvement since March 2000.

Main changes

In January 2017, the President signed new amendments to the Regulations on Military Service. All the changes are presented below.
