Vormin is a synthetic anthelmintic agent, which is prescribed mainly against intestinal helminth species.

The drug inhibits the synthesis of proteins and the production of glucose in the helminth, as a result of which it dies. "Vormin" is excreted only through the intestine along with the calves, as it is very slowly absorbed through the walls of the intestine. The active substance contained in the tablets produces a paralytic effect on helminths and the parasite perishes.

Pharmacological effect

Mebendazole blocks the processes associated with the production of tubulin inside the cells of parasites. The active component of Vormin disrupts the utilization of glucose in tissues, inhibits the production of ATP, reduces glycogen stores to a critical level.

Vormin is absorbed from the digestive tract very slowly, in a minimal amount (up to ten percent). The elimination half-life is from, to 5, 5 hours. The assimilated mebendazole binds 90% in blood to proteins. On the bodies "diverges" unevenly. It accumulates mainly in the liver, larvae of parasites, adipose tissue.

More than 90% of the drug is excreted with mucus masses without metabolic transformations.

It is not recommended to combine tablets Vormin and drugs that have a lipophilic agent, this will increase the absorption of the active substance and, as a result, reduce the effectiveness of treatment.

You should also be careful when taking anthelminthic drugs and cimetiline or carbamazepine, as well as its analogues. The first increases the concentration of mebendazole in the blood of the patient, the second - reduces.

Reviews

We picked up some feedback from people about the drug Vormin:

  1. Helga. An excellent preparation for the prevention and treatment of helminthic invasions, which is recommended to be taken twice a year - in spring and in autumn. Well tolerated, great for all family members from the age of two, because the drug must be used by the whole family, so as not to leave any chance to parasites. Available for the price.
  2. Natalia. We live in the private sector, we have four cats and a dog, of course with such an amount of livestock can not do without prevention. Mostly we use "Wormin" - no problems arose even on the condition that our dog regularly finds somewhere of different kinds parasites, as a result, it has to be treated repeatedly (we always do a comprehensive prophylaxis of all family members and all our animals).
  3. Anna. On the next medical examination the child was diagnosed with enterobiosis, probably, brought him from a kindergarten. The attending physician suggested using Vormin. After a single admission there were no negative consequences for the body, two weeks later they made an analysis for enterobiasis, there were no traces of infection any more.

Review of a parasitologist

Worming is one of the medicines you can trust. The drug against enterobiosis is most effective, but it is also effective against other varieties of parasites living in the gastrointestinal tract. If all the rules of prevention and recommendations of the attending physician are observed, the parasites will quickly leave.

Do not use Vormin to prevent parasitic diseases, especially in children. It is not intended for preventive administration, its negative effect on the digestive tract may be too great, especially if there are other digestive system diseases.
